Female photographers have been treated like many other professional women throughout history, they have been rendered invisible and their importance have been diminished. Many of the women who worked as photographers at the turn of the century were unmarried women. Being unmarried gave them an opportunity to continue working, seeings as the norm was for a woman to stop working when she got married.
In this lecture you will get to know some of the female photographers who were active in Gränna around 1900.
